Weekend Summary
The Southern Oregon Blackout 12U Morton team played hard and scored 61 runs while allowing just 6 runs against the other teams in the tournament over the weekend as they ended up undefeated and champions .
Morton 12U cruised during the first two games on sunday by defeating Wilsonville Wildcats 12U Van Meter and Lady Rogues 12U, allowing no runs in the process.
In the championship round, the number one seed Blackout team and second seeded Deschutes Defenders 12U Wolfe were slated to do battle. The game featured strong bats and exceptional defensive plays by both teams to keep the game close for 7 innings. Â In the end, Blackout was able to pull away with some critical defensive plays and steady pitching to claim the championship trophy winning 5-3.
