Blackout Rivero 14U balled all weekend to claim the championship trophy against WA Ladyhawks Riley.
Weekend Summary
Southern Oregon Blackout 14U Rivero team finished another great weekend of softball by winning the 14U Spring Fling championship and ending with a 6-1 record for the tournament.
14-Rivero opened up pool play on saturday with solid win over Lil Rebels Oregon Richardson 14-0, followed by a 0-9 loss to WA Ladyhawks Riley before bouncing back against Comets Fastpitch 21-0. The record was good enough to give Blackout the 3rd seed going into bracket play on sunday.
The first semi-final victories were against Lil Rebels and Comets on sunday.
The semifinal game was against a familiar foe in Lazershow, who beat Blackout Rivero 14U in an earlier previous tournament to claim the championship, but this his time Blackout-14U got the win and defeated Lazershow 10-5 to move on to the championship round.
In the championship round, Blackout 14U faced off with the number 1 seed in WA Ladyhawks Riley (also gave Blackout it's only loss on saturday). This time Blackout-Rivero 14U battled all game and held down the lead to win the championship trophy by a score of 11-8.
